About

Hi I’m Tim Halloran and welcome to my website.

I originally found the style of Wing Chun Kung Fu in 1993.

Having been a big Bruce Lee fan, I realised immediately that Wing Chun was something special as I had trained in a couple of other styles at this point (Judo, Karate and Taekwondo).

I always had a love for the martial arts since I was very young when my father took me and my brother to a Judo class at age 8.

I didn’t know at the time of starting that Wing Chun was Bruce Lee’s original style!

Bruce Lee took a lot from Wing Chun to use in his own style which he named Jeet June Do

Here’s a picture from years back I must have been around 9-10 and I was showing my cousin a Judo throw in the garden – check out the haircut!

Here I’m showing Rik some Pak Sau (slapping hand) drill from Wing Chun having just discovered the style in my late teens.

Luckily I had accidentally stumbled upon one of the only Hong Kong qualified instructors in the UK back then – Sifu Colin Ward. He was my teacher for over 20 years.

In 2021 I found another Wing Chun instructor Sifu Daniel Parr who taught from another lineage – Shu Shong Tin.

During my early years of studying Wing Chun my instructor arranged a number of visits of Grandmaster Ip Chun himself when he came to the UK to teach.

So I was lucky enough to meet him and play chi sau with him on occasions in the UK and I also travelled to Hong Kong to train at the Ving Tsun Athletic Association in Mong Kok.

Here we are playing chi sau at a seminar in Manchester in the early 90’s.

In my early 20’s I met a stuntman who had worked on the James Bond films! I was so inspired by this that I decided it might be a good career path and set about training to become a stuntman.

In 2002 I joined Equity’s registered British Stunt Register and in 2004 I got my first job on a film called Enduring Love, doubling Rhys Ifans hanging from a hot air balloon!

Part of this training involved getting to black belt level in a martial art. Since I was already well on my way to doing so, I continued my Wing Chun studies while training in rock climbing, SCUBA diving, trampolining, fencing and swimming.

That’s me in the white shirt with a shirt round my waist! We filmed in Oxford, UK.

Here’s an old picture from 2004 with the late Peter O’ Toole on the set of Casanova in Manchester, UK.

I wasn’t getting much work in the stunt business at first, so I took a job as a stand-in.

This led to one of my first jobs stunt doubling for David Tenant doing some climbing in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Here’s me with David Tennant in Dubrovnik. I doubled for him climbing up the outside of a building for a scene in Casanova.

I was lucky enough to work on several productions including films such as X-Men (First Class), The Legend Of Tarzan, Wrath Of The Titans, Sunshine, The World’s End, Grimsby, The Bad Education Movie, Prince Of Persia, The Boat That Rocked, Red 2 and Jupiter Ascending. I also worked on various television productions including Game Of Thrones, Emerdale, The Bill, Silent Witness, Fresh Meat, Whitechapel and many others.

In 2014 I found an online business community which gave me the skills to earn an income online.

An online business gives you the freedom to focus on what is important in your life.

If you’re looking for a flexible way of earning an income online have a look at Stuart’s online business community.

Wing Chun has been a passion of mine for over 30 years now and I’m grateful I’m able to pass on what I’ve learned.

Our school has been running since 2010 and we are passionate about teaching the traditional Wing Chun system in a fun and enjoyable way.

Come along to a class and learn this awesome system of martial arts and self defence for yourself!

Classes run on Monday’s and Wednesday’s and I also offer private classes on a 1 to 1 basis.
