Tim Halloran has been studying martial arts for over 30 years having originally started with Judo at age 8. Later he studied Shotokan Karate and Tae Kwon Do among other styles before finding Wing Chun in 1993.

Tim’s Wing Chun studies originally began in the lineage of Grandmaster Ip Chun through one of his most senior students Sifu Colin Ward, with whom he continued to study with for over 20 years.

In more recent years Tim has sought instruction from Daniel Parr, an instructor from the Chu Shong Tin lineage. He continues to travel to Sheffield to visit Dan regularly to improve his Wing Chun.

Chu Shong Tin was Ip Man‘s third student after Leung Sheung and Lok Yiu.

Our school has been growing since 2010 and we now have several instructors who share our passion for teaching Wing Chun in a relaxed and fun environment.

Whatever your experience level we are committed to top level instruction and student-centered growth for anyone who wants to learn. However due to the nature of the style, we only accept members aged 16 years and above.

While Kung Fu skill is brutal and effective as a martial skill, training has a number of benefits such as calmness of mind, self awareness and improved health. It can also help you in your life in a number of ways, beyond the obvious self defence skills because of your shift in awareness.

Having confidence in a conflict can give you the calmness to handle it in a much more peaceful and resolute way. This attitude towards difficulties can be a solution to common problems and the trials and tribulations of everyday life.
